Raul Julia-Levy (born July 10, 1971) is a Mexican film and television actor as well as a noted philanthropist. Raul first starred in soap operas in Europe and Mexico. He has acted in feature films since 1991, and has produced five motion picture projects since 2001.

Most recently, Raul is launched FlauntMyPet.com, a website showcasing Hollywood Celebrities and their pets. The site focuses on pet related charities and causes, animal health issues and news, as well as a social vehicle for pet lovers to communicate with each other and celebrities.[1] Raul has also been active in the plight of Orcas, drawing together celebrity power to bring awareness to Lolita, the last surviving Orca residing in an illegal tank in the Miami Seaquarium. The goal of his efforts is to relocate Lolita to her home waters in Washington State, freeing her to be reunited with her family in Puget Sound.[2]

Acting and producing career

Raul Julia-Levy began his entertainment career in Mexico City, Mexico. He accepted roles in Mexican soap operas yet desired to broaden his career by producing and acting in American major motion pictures. When he relocated to Hollywood, California, he immediately became involved in the entertainment industry. He helped secure financing for the blockbuster Face/Off, starring Nicolas Cage and John Travolta. A few years later, he acted in and received assistant producer credit for Double Take, starring Eddie Griffin and Orlando Jones. Other acting credits include playing a bandito in Epoch with David Keith and starring in Vengeance and its sequel Clash with Damon Whitaker and Danny Venegas. In both films, Julia-Levy plays the lead role of an empathetic Los Angeles cop who strives to ensure that goodness prevails.

In 2008, he produced and starred with Megan Good, The Game, and Lorenz Tates in The Shaw, a film about the low-rider culture synonymous with Crenshaw Boulevard in Crenshaw, California. In 2009, Raul is working on a historical drama project entitled Birdwoman of the Snake, the story of Sacagawea.

Charitable work and activism

Raul has been involved in animal rights campaigns for many years. Notably, Raul raised high profile support of freeing Lolita, an Orcas whale held at the Miami Seaquarium.[3] Members supporting the cause included Johnny Depp, Lindsay Lohan, Harrison Ford, Elton John, 50 Cent, and Plácido Domingo as well as film producers Cameron Crowe, Ed Elbert, and Ron Howard.[4]
